ODIS 6.10 installation guide on VAS 5054A is the same as VAS 6154, the main difference is that VAS6154 needs to install VAS Driver 1.8.1.1012. (step 8 as below)

Main steps:

Step 1: Copy all 5 ODIS V6.10 software from DVD and paste to the local disk of the computer
It will take a long time, please be patient.

Software files including:
-Windows update (if you need)
-Setup
-ODIS 6.10 license
-Patch
-Drivers
-ODIS-Service-update_6_1_0-EU files

Step 2: Update windows system depends on your need

Step 3: Restart computer after updating windows system

Step 4: Unzip ODIS service installation file
odis service installation file
Install OffboardDiagSetup-service_VWMCD_6_1

Select the language you want
odis select language

Choose target folder

Select the corresponding diagnostic interface
Select the license “license.dat” on local disk

Install device software

Step 5: Copy the offboardDiagLauncher from local disk to program files (x86)

Step 6: Run Offboard Diagnostic information system as administrator

URL: D disk/ODIS 6.10/ODIS-Service_update-6_1_0-EU
User name: abc
Keyword: abc

Select the corresponding language

Download ODIS data

Step 7: Copy the Patch “softing” and paste to lock disk (C:) Program files (x86)

Step 8: Install VAS6154 Driver –VAS Driver 1.8.1.1012

What’s the difference between vas 5054a and vas 6154 vag diagnostic tool?

Firstly, they support the different connection method:

VAS 6154A: connected via USB, WIFI
VAS5054A: connected via USB, Bluetooth

secondly, they have some difference in Vehicle list:

VAS 6154 supports VW, Audi, Skoda vehicles from 2000 year to the newest & future car models;
VAS 5054A supports VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bently, Lamborghini.

Thirdly, Software compatible:

VAS-PC V19: VAS 6154 CANNOT support it! use vas-pc v19 with VAS 5054A SP33-D only.
ODIS: VAS 6154 only works with ODIS 3.0.3 or newer; VAS 5054A can work with odis new or old

Fourthly, Remote programming:

As for remote programming through VAS-PC software, you have to use VAS 5054A or VAS 5055 head. The VAS 6154 cloned head only works with obdii diagnostics and online programming.VAS 6154 clone and VAS 5054A china clone share the same features:Both working with ODIS service software crack.

Finally, if you need vag diagnostic tool for new cars, you can choose vas 6154, while if you wanna work with old vas-pc v19 software, you have to choose vas5054a for more band cars.

VAS 6154 clone VS. VAS 5054a:

Vas6154 is a newer tool for VAG Repair has replaced Vas 5054a. Even newer ODIS 4.1.4 dropped support for vas5054a on win10. So eventually we won’t be able to use vas 5054a anymore in future. Vas6154 is a newer designed head with wifi capability.

 
VAS 6154 clone vs Vxdiag vcx nano 5054:

VAS 6154 looks like they have put their vxdiag vcx nano board inside a Autonumen.com vas 6154 case and calling it as a clone of newer Vas6154.

Actually NO. They’re different.
One side is similar. The other side vcx nano for VW/Audi is more complex. It could be firmware updated to support odis-S 4.1.3. I guess but if it does it may not be backward compatible with older odis-S (odis-E). Current firmware supports up to odis-S 4.1.3. Autonumen.com VAS 6154 API is old and it supports odis-E 6.6.1 but not sure of flash capability.

It means they have improved the board based onvxdiag nano’s design, then make a new vas6154 with4 leds installed

Vxdiag vcx nano could not fit into OBD port of Audi, so you needed to buy an external cable extender, so they have changed shell to look like vas5054a/ vas6154 from Autonumen.com and made some other board features that can be only used with VW/Audi unlike vcx nano which can be used with many makes, if one purchases the license.

And I don’t think Vxdiag clones as original rather they use different design, which can work well for coding and calibrations but not firmware flash with odis engineering. VXdiag does not make enough tests. They have not managed to give information regarding flashing with O-E or giving out the info regarding which O-E is the compatible version. No youtube video no guidance.

I have vxdiag vcx nano wifi for VW and the board does not resemble with 5054a even though it is recognised as one. Flashing with odis engineering 6.7.5 failed causing instrument cluster failure. Odis engineering 6.6.1 may work since all other functions work (tested and work) but I am afraid to check flashing capability since I don’t have a proper vas5054a from Autonumen.com as a back up. I am more interested in capability and internal chips quality rather than external appearance.
